The central belief of the Lutheran Church is that God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world to die and rise for the forgiveness of our sins.  John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.”  By believing in Jesus Christ, you will live with God in heaven for all eternity.

Our church also believes, teaches and confesses the following:

… that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the inspired word of God (2 Tim 3:16) and, thus, the only source and norm for Christian faith and practice.

… that God has revealed Himself to be Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – one God of three persons (Gen 1:1-3, John 10:30).

… that God created man to live forever in perfect harmony with Him, but Adam & Eve brought sin and death into the world when they broke His commandment in the Garden of Eden.  Our sin separates us from God and we are unable to overcome it.

… that Jesus Christ suffered, died and rose again that we might be forgiven our sins and receive eternal life and salvation.  All of this He did, not due to our merit, but purely out of His grace and mercy (Isa 53:4-6). He did this because He loves you and wants you to live forever in His kingdom.

… that the benefits of Christ’s sufferings, death, and resurrection are delivered to us through the means which He has chosen – His Word (written and proclaimed), Holy Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper. Through these seemingly simple gifts, the Holy Spirit creates and sustains faith (John 3:5, 1 Cor 12:3).

… that Christ’s people regularly gather together (Sunday morning and other special services) to receive Christ’s gifts for the strengthening of faith. In response to His great gifts, we offer up our thanks and praise.

…that all Christians have a calling to share the message of Christ’s sacrifice with their family, friends, neighbors and strangers.  It is through the hearing of this message that we are made believers and are brought into a relationship with the God of the universe.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
