 Union Gospel Mission

The Union Gospel Mission provides temporary housing and food to the homeless of Tarrant County.  We send volunteers down to the Mission several times a year to serve food to the homeless.

POBLO

Holy Shepherd members have worked with People of the Book Lutheran Outreach.  POBLO focuses on sharing the Gospel with people of the Islamic faith.  We share the Good News of Jesus with people one on one and we help to provide childcare for families coming to the church to take ESL classes (English as a Second Language). 

Open Arms Home

Open Arms Home provides long term housing for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.  We collect food for Open Arms Home around Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We also periodically send volunteers over to do some work on their facilities.

Angel Tree

Angel Tree is a ministry that reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ.  It seeks to transform the lives of these families and to reconcile them to their Heavenly Father and each other.  We collect gifts for this ministry near Christmas time.

Ophan Grain Train

In loving response to Christ, the Servant, the Orphan Grain Train movement encourages and enables God’s people to share personal and material resources in bringing Christ’s name and character to needy people both far and near.  Holy Shepherd has sent care packages to children in Vietnam

Voice of the Martyrs

Voice of the Martyrs is an organization that publishes a monthly magazine about where Christians are being persecuted in the world today.  Last year, Holy Shepherd confirmation students made parachutes for Bibles and Christian literature to be dropped in guerilla strongholds in Columbia, South America.

Concordia Seminary

Holy Shepherd has financially supported seminary students in their studies at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
